Hanuma Vihari is an Andra all-rounder, who has made his debut to the Indian National team in the final Test of the ongoing Test series. The right-handed batsman and occasional off-break bowler who was a member of the under-19 cricket team that won the world cup in 2012.

Who’s Hanuma Vihari?

Hanuma Vihari came into limelight when he became the highest run-getter in the Ranaji trophy  2017/8. The prominent face in the Ranji cricket has forced the selectors of the national team to consider his name with his performance in the Ranji and other domestic circuits. He was the run machine of the Andhra team in 2017/8 season (Their most successful season in recent times).

He also plays for the Sun Risers Hyderabad. Vihari is a player that could easily fit into any team for his batting and bowling abilities. His consistence performance for India-A team in the recent past has earned him a place in the main team. That’s what earned him a place in the playing eleven as well in the final test.

 

Career and debut

Vihari started his career in the Hyderabad team in the Ranji trophy. But his successful years have come after he switched to Andhra Ranji team. He was the highest run-getter in the 2017/8 circuit.  He didn’t have a successful campaign in the Under-19  World cup 2012. He managed to score only 71 runs and pick 6 wickets in the whole tournament.

His success came once he joined the Andhra Ranji team. He has a triple hundred against his name. So, these achievements caught the eyes of the selectors.

Hanuma Vihari’s SRH career started with a man of the match performance in one of his starting matches. He has a good contribution with both bat and ball there. He wasn’t the first pick in the Hyderabad based team. He was in and out of the team. His home fans hope for a better season for him this season around.
